Dreaming Myself Awake: a Guided Meditation
Together, let’s take a journey into our inner realm, where the wisdom of our soul meets the power of our becoming.
Begin by finding a comfortable place to rest—either seated or lying down. Allow your body to settle into the earth, into the moment, into itself.
Take a slow breath in…
And as you exhale, feel the day begin to soften around you.
Breathe in, and breathe out.
Let the weight of thoughts, to-do lists, and obligations begin to dissolve—like mist rising off morning waters.
If it feels safe, gently close your eyes. If not, that’s okay, simply let your gaze become soft and unfocused. Let them drift off to the side.
Now, bring your attention to your breath.
As you inhale and exhale, notice its rhythm.
The gentle rise and fall.
The sacred cycle of receiving and releasing.
Breathe in slowly—deep into your belly, your ribs, your heart.
And exhale gently—letting go of everything you no longer need to carry.
Again.
Inhale…
Exhale…
Feel yourself begin to drop deeper into your body, like roots reaching into rich soil.
With every breath, you arrive more fully into this moment.
Breathe.
Now, call your awareness to your senses.
What sounds ripple through the space around you?
What textures greet your skin?
Is there a scent lingering in the air?
A taste resting on your tongue?
Let yourself be the witness to the moment. This moment.
This moment that is soft, curious, and awake.
Breathe.
Imagine a door appearing before you just steps away.
You can sense an energetic connection with the wood of the door.
Its warm. Inviting.
As you open the door, your inner landscape comes into view.
Imagine, if you would, a single moment of stillness. Like a freeze frame.
It could be from your memory or from your imagination.
A moment when time felt like it stood still—when that peace held you like a gentle breeze.
Let that moment rise and settle behind your eyes.
Let it become a doorway.
Step through.
Breathe.
And as you pass through this threshold, you enter a dreamscape woven just for you.
A realm where the deepest of truths of your soul speak in color, texture, and sensation.
Where your essence is free to express, to create, to remember.
As you stand in this realm, just take a moment and breathe here. If you don’t see anything yet, that’s okay. Allow it to happen organically, allow it to come from that heart space that is waiting to be felt. To rise.
Ask and let the colors rise—those that reflect your healing, your joy, your highest good.
Let thoughts come in the form of symbols, shapes, and even sounds. What do you hear?
Give them form.
Give them breath.
Let them dance across the canvas of your mind’s eye like firelight flickering in sacred rhythm.
You are, beloved, you are dreaming yourself awake.
It’s here, you are free to re-imagine who you are—
Not by the world’s standards, but by your soul’s knowing.
Here, you awaken not to do more, but to be more fully yourself.
Breathe in. You are empowered. You are rooted. You are alive.
Take a deep breath in. Breathe that into your being.
As you exhale, follow the thread of stillness.
Lean into your dreaming.
Even if its just a feeling, bring that into yourself.
Let it nourish you like spring rain soaking into the earth.
Let it replenish the sacred well within you—the one that never ever, runs dry, only waits… Waits to be remembered.
Breathe.
And when it feels complete…
Step gently back from the vision.
Bow to what has been revealed to you.
Place your hands over your heart.
Honor the journey.
Hold the dream close.
Let it root into your being, where it will continue to grow and bloom.
Begin to bring your awareness back into your body—into the room.
Wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
Roll your shoulders.
Take a deep, anchoring breath.
And when you’re ready…
Open your eyes.
You have returned, beloved.
But you are not the same.
You are dreaming—
But, you are so very much awake.
Journal Prompts
Light a candle, pour some tea, and let your pen move like water.
If I were to name this inner landscape, what would I call it? Make this your sacred inner place.
What images, colors, messages, or sensations arose in my dreamscape?
What message or feeling did my soul share with me during this journey?
How did my body feel in the dreamscape? Did you notice any part of yourself that felt most alive, most seen, or most reclaimed during the meditation?
What am I being invited to release right now, and how am I being asked to nourish myself moving forward?
What would it look like to bring this dream-essence into my everyday life? Create a small ritual, practice or step that you can take to shift this into your day-to-day reality.
